When you use our bug tracking platform, we collect information that helps us provide better service. This isn't about gathering data for the sake of it — everything we collect serves a specific purpose.

How We Use Your Information

We're not in the business of selling your data or bombarding you with irrelevant marketing. Here's what we actually do with your information:

• Send you important updates about your account or service changes
• Respond to your support requests and technical questions
• Improve our platform based on how people use it
• Detect and prevent security issues or fraudulent activity
• Comply with legal requirements when necessary

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers located in Taiwan, with additional backup systems to ensure reliability. We use industry-standard encryption both when data travels between your device and our servers, and when it's stored in our databases.

While we implement strong security measures, no system is completely immune to threats. We continuously monitor and update our security practices to stay ahead of potential risks.

Your Rights and Choices

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and international privacy standards, you have several rights regarding your personal information. We've made these rights practical and accessible, not buried in legal jargon.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your information in very limited circumstances, and always with good reason. Here's the complete list:

• Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate our platform (cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing). These companies are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court orders, or to protect our legal rights. We'll notify you unless legally prohibited from doing so.
• Business Transfers: If CodeStreamSys is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new entity. You'll receive advance notice of any such changes.
• Your Team Members: Information you choose to share within your project teams or organization. You control these sharing settings.

We don't share data with advertisers, data brokers, or other companies looking to market to you. That's not what we do.

Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal requirements. Here's our general approach:

• Active account data: Retained while your account remains active
• Bug reports and project data: Kept for the life of your projects, plus one year after account closure
• Payment information: Retained for tax and accounting purposes as required by law
• Support communications: Kept for two years to help with ongoing issues
• Technical logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days unless needed for security investigations

When we delete data, it's permanently removed from our active systems. Backup copies are also deleted according to our standard backup rotation schedule.

International Data Transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed in Taiwan. However, some of our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States and European Union. When this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.

We use standard contractual clauses and other legally recognized mechanisms to ensure your data receives the same level of protection regardless of where it's processed.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to make our platform work properly and improve your experience. Most are essential for basic functionality, while others help us understand how people use our service.

Changes to This Policy

We update this privacy policy when our practices change or when required by law. Significant changes will be communicated through email or prominent notices in our platform at least 30 days before they take effect.

Minor updates (like clarifying existing practices or fixing typos) may be made without advance notice, but we'll always update the "last modified" date below.

If you don't agree with any changes, you can delete your account before they become effective. Continuing to use our service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
